Soreness, smarting, throbbing, spasm, anguish, twinge are all words that describe how we feel when things just are not right. These are words that usually describe how people feel for weeks before they limp into my office. My bet that you are one of them. I hear "I thought it would go away" "It wasn't something that I could not deal with" and then they come into the office in severe pain that is now limiting there life. The dull aches that are dealt with in some people every day is a WARNING sign. It is no different than the oil light on your cars dash board lighting up. Lets ask the question what happens when you ignore that light? I will tell you nothing good happens. The same thing happens with the spine or other joints in the body when you ignore the dull ache that is a result of increased stress on the structure the structure starts to wear differently and can cause things like degeneration, arthritis, disc herniation, and severe muscle spasms. These things can over time cause significant health concerns as it relates to the spine resulting in surgeries and pain that may never go away.
What you need to do is NOT WAIT and see if things get better it is easier to treat when it is in the beginning stages than to wait till you can not move. Many people say well it is just muscle. What is that muscle attached to (it's the Bones). When the muscle is pulling or in spasm it is shifting the pressure on the bone and joint thus shifting it out of ideal alignment. So even if it is muscle the alignment can still effect how quickly you feel better GET IT ADJUSTED. Contrary to popular belief I don't like to see people in pain I want you to come in for a couple visits and feel better right away I do not like seeing you 8 to 12 times (no offence) but I would rather see you 1 to 3 times with a smile on your face and stating how wonderful you have felt. Look at chiropractic and life as a maintenance of health and not at treating a disease it is going to save you thousands in the long run. This practice of maintenance is not only for the back and joints but the concept can be used for every aspect of life at times a very hard thing to do but one of the best life styles any person can implement.
