Don't be fooled by the Snake Oil salesman. The snake oil peddler became a stock character in Western movies: a traveling "doctor" in the back of a wagon with great communication skills and a unique gift of trust and empathy selling some medicine, often supported by pseudo-scientific evidence, to desperate people in search of an answer or a cure from their sickness or pain.
The snake oil salesman are just not in the western movies they are real and are more numerous currently than at any other time in history. We see the marketing everyday from our computers, television, billboards, newspapers, and even your doctors office. We are slowly being brain washed by the greedy. They targeted the sick and weak and promise them health and strength with millions no wait billions of dollars spent to reach out and promise what they can never deliver.
You think I am wrong look at the stats...
In a article published by Gagnon M-A, Lexchin J (2008):The Cost of Pushing Pills. An accounting study based on the annual reports of ten of the largest global pharmaceutical firms, Lauzon and Hasbani showed that between 1996 and 2005, these firms globally spent a total of US$739 billion on “marketing and administration.” In comparison, these same firms spent US$699 billion in manufacturing costs, US$288 billion in R&D, and had a net investment in property and equipment of US$43 billion, while receiving US$558 billion in profits. (Lauzon L-P, Hasbani M (2006) Analyse socio-économique: industrie pharmaceutique mondiale pour la période de dix ans 1996–2005. Montreal: Chaire d'études socio-économiques de l'UQAM.)
We are basically being told to forget about the physiology (study of how the body works) and put all your trust into Pharmacology (medicine) and you will be better Stronger and faster than you were before. BULL CRAP.... That is the reason why every time you take a medication there is a side effect. Even though you get a desired effect there is always something that is not desired that is lurking around the corner (side effect). We ignore the warnings on the labels because we think "that will never happen to me". We continue to follow the marketing and believe that the pharmaceuticals are good and that they are looking out for our best interest. when in all actuality they want to line their own pockets with your misery.
I hope this will raise some questions about health and when you have some questions I know where you can go to get them answered. Your partner in Health. Dr. Nathan
